About the role

The City of Allen seeks a Playroom Supervisor to support and enforce the rules, regulations, and safety of the Playroom. This position serves as a team leader with varying days and evenings throughout the week, providing supervision and engaging children visiting up to two hours per day.

Responsibilities

  • Takes corrective action for unsafe situations and remains observant of any unsafe situations.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the playroom throughout scheduled shifts.
  • Adheres to and enforces policies and procedures.
  • Welcome parents and children, consult with management before approaching parents with concerns, and maintain a customer service approach in all interactions.
  • Encourage appropriate use of toys, follow established discipline guidelines, and create a stimulating and engaging environment.
  • Accurately record all children within the playroom areas, such as medical forms and releases, check-in and out logs, and complete incident forms.
  • Provide daily updates to staff and other team leaders, and notify the manager on duty of changes with a direct impact on playroom operations.
  • Assist supervisors with hiring and training attendants.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with no prior relevant work experience.
  • Basic computer and phone skills are required.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
  • At least eighteen (18) years old.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (specific to children), and babysitting certification, within thirty (30) days of employment.

Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field.
  • Knowledge of City of Allen policies, procedures, and PRIDE values related to customer service, public interaction, and staff.
  • Basic principles of child supervision and safety in a playroom or childcare setting.
  • Child development and behavior to promote positive and age-appropriate interactions.
  • Health, hygiene, and cleanliness standards in environment designed for children.
  • Emergency procedures and child-specific First Aid/CPR practices.
  • Proper documentation for check-in/out logs, medical forms, and incident reports.
  • Team leadership and basic staff training and scheduling processes.

  • Deliver excellent customer service while supporting the City's values.
  • Supervising and engaging children in a safe, friendly, and developmentally appropriate way.
  • Identifying and responding to potential safety concerns and hazards promptly.
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with parents, children, and team members.
  • Encouraging positive behavior and managing conflicts using established discipline guidelines.
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing required documentation.
  • Leading and supporting team members, including assisting with hiring and training.
  • Managing daily operational updates and escalating relevant information to management.

Pay

The full salary range for this position is $13.34 - $19.35 hourly.

Schedule

This is a part-time position generally working less than 20 hours per week. There may be evening, weekend, and holiday shifts based on facility needs.
