About the role

The Lead Pharmacy Technician – Pediatrics role is based at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus with a primary assignment in the Pediatric Pharmacy Satellite, supporting pediatric inpatient units, the pediatric satellite pharmacy, and CCCHR services, with limited and structured float coverage. This position operates within a large, multi-specialty academic medical center and focuses on pediatric medication distribution across high-acuity inpatient and specialty service lines. The lead technician works closely with pediatric pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pediatric nurses, unit leadership, and interdisciplinary care teams, while also providing indirect Main Campus support through an on-call technician program and coordination with central pharmacy teams during coverage needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support pediatric medication distribution workflows
  • Maintain and manage pediatric medication inventory
  • Assist with deliveries to pediatric units and satellites
  • Coordinate pediatric-specific medication needs with pharmacists
  • Participate in on-call and downtime support
  • Ensure compliance with pediatric safety and regulatory standards

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a pharmacy technician within the assigned relevant practice area
  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to identify and develop solutions applying appropriate pharmacy standards and policies
  • Ability to educate and train others, including how to plan and direct their efforts

Qualifications

  • Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR the National HealthCareer Association (NHA)
  • AND it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee. If certified but current status with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) is Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee it is required to update registration status to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire.

Pay

Minimum hourly: $24.75 Maximum hourly: $34.25
