Lead Person - Ham Pack 1st

About the role

Lead Person tasked with running a specific area of production in an efficient and safe manner. Understands the daily schedule and communicates it to operators, applies first-in-first-out product rotation, and ensures orders are processed to Boar’s Head customer-service standards. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in a warehouse, distribution center, or meat-processing facility. Proactively troubleshoots issues, trains others, and assists production supervisors in meeting departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks as assigned by the department supervisor/manager.
• Operate and help maintain equipment within the assigned area.
• Report problem situations and recommend improvements to enhance production efficiency.
• Work as a team player to assist with on-the-job training and development of other employees.
• Recognize potential problems and coach employees or recommend actions to the supervisor.
• Follow company GMPs, SOPs, safety rules, plant policies, and codes of conduct.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Verify accuracy of orders, invoices, and manifests; complete cycle counts and inventory control procedures.
• Satisfy the requirements of both internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Work in a cold, damp environment.
• Prior leadership experience in a manufacturing or food-production setting.
• Basic oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Ability to lift and move 50–75 pounds (with assistance when required).
• Available for a Monday–Friday schedule, with weekend work as dictated by production needs.
• Fork-lift/tow motor experience.
• Experience with Oracle systems preferred.
