Overview
Consider joining the Pennex family as a Lead Person in our York, PA location. The Lead Person is a key role in the operation of the Fabrication department. This position works closely with the production team to meet production targets, maintain quality standards, and optimize machine performance.
Responsibilities
- Sets up press dies for machine operators and reviews their set-ups.
- Makes sure the process is efficient to meet production and quality standards.
- Serves as backup to the supervisor, maintains production schedules, and assigns tasks to operators.
- Repairs and maintains dies and tooling, ensuring quality production parts meet customer requirements.
- Works with the supervisor to decide on replacing or adding dies to keep production schedules on track.
- Prioritizes the press area to ensure schedules are followed.
- Trains all personnel in the press area and performs other duties as needed.
- Maintains a neat, orderly work area, including correctly maintaining, storing, and organizing tools and supplies.
- Assists in general shop housekeeping.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Prior leadership experience in a production or fabrication setting is preferred.
- Experience in an aluminum fabrication facility is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate work instructions.
- Computational skills, including reading blueprints and die drawings, and ensuring set-ups comply with these documents.
- Leadership skills for training, guiding, and supporting team members.
- Strong organizational and communication skills for prioritizing tasks and meeting production deadlines.
- Eligible to work in the United States and must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and visa sponsorships are not available.
