Lead Patient Financial Counselor

About the Role

The Financial Coordinator Lead oversees the daily work of the Financial Coordinators while also performing the duties of a Financial Coordinator. Responsibilities include providing financial insurance and payment information to assist patients in planning and managing their account balances related to specific services performed in the clinic, and educating patients on various sponsorship programs available to them. The Financial Coordinator serves as the liaison to the PBO/RBO and the sponsoring hospital.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily work of Financial Coordinators.
• Provide financial insurance and payment information to patients.
• Assist patients in planning and managing account balances related to clinic services.
• Educate patients on available sponsorship programs.
• Serve as a liaison to the PBO/RBO and sponsoring hospital.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in a Business Office, preferably in a financial/billing position.
• 1 year of experience as a financial counselor with a proven success rate, preferably with Providence Health and Services.
• Experience with medical and health plan terminology, CPT codes, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding.

Preferred Qualifications

• College coursework or training.
• Experience with medical specialty.

Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Pay

Pay range: $26.79 - $40.99 per hour. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range will be determined based on relevant job experience and other applicable factors.

Schedule

Full time, Day shift.
