About the role

The Lead Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team that provides direct care to behavioral health patients as well as oversight and support to the PCTs assigned to their shift. The Lead PCT coordinates with Registered Nurses (RN), Patient Care Technicians (PCT), and Behavioral Health Medical Practitioners (BHMP) to ensure a safe environment and quality care is provided to all presenting for services. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety and operational effectiveness of the assigned unit, identifying environmental and patient-specific safety concerns, directing staff during non-violent physical interventions, seclusion and restraint episodes, and providing direct patient care when needed. The Lead PCT is expected to have full knowledge of program policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • One (1) or more years of healthcare-related experience with exposure to both behavioral and medical crisis situations required.
  • Emergency Medical Technician certification (valid within the state of Arizona) preferred but not required.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant certification (current and valid within the State of Arizona) preferred but not required.
  • Valid identification required.
