Lead Patient Care Tech
About the role
As a Lead Patient Care Tech at HCA Florida Gainesville Hospital, you'll play a crucial role in the nursing team, providing compassionate care and guiding and supporting new and experienced staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with ADLs, support mobility and comfort, check vital signs, collect specimens, prepare for procedures, and monitor telemetry as needed
- Document patient care accurately and communicate important updates to the nursing team to ensure coordinated, timely care
- Maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices, setting up and caring for equipment, and ensuring needed supplies are ready
- Respond to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication to promote comfort and trust
- Train new team members, share updates on policies and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Preceptor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant, or (LPN/LVN) Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
