LEAD PASTOR

First Baptist Church of Meriden, NH is seeking a pastor to replace our long-serving pastor due to retirement. We are looking for someone called to the mission field of northern New England, with a heart for the lost and a gift for discipling those already in the flock.

About the Church

We have been an independent Baptist congregation since the 18th century, aiming to maintain consistent theology while updating our ministry to meet 21st-century needs. Located in a small town in one of the most secular areas of the country, our church has a Sunday worship attendance in the 30s, with many long-committed families. Ministries include prayer meetings, men’s and women’s ministries, worship, missions, and children’s ministry. We maintain strong connections with other evangelical churches in the area.

The church is situated in Plainfield, NH (Meriden is one of its two villages), part of the Lebanon Micropolitan Area, often referred to as the “Upper Valley.” The region, anchored by Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Health, and related businesses, has a population of around 78,000. Despite its rural nature, the area offers unexpected diversity due to its proximity to educational and healthcare institutions, including Kimball Union Academy in Plainfield.

The church owns its building at the intersection of Main Street and Route 120, one of the town’s two main roads. The facility is well-maintained and updated to support God’s work. We also own a parsonage, a short walk from the church, which was renovated and expanded about 15 years ago.
