About the role
This position requires an advanced knowledge of the aircraft paint processes. The job involves leading teams, varying amounts of work order processing, log book entries and general aircraft painting. Supervision of the team and direction of project flow will be a primary function.
Responsibilities
- Leading teams and directing project flow
- Coordinating schedules with other departments
- Training team members to ensure quality and safety standards
- Scheduling with parts department to ensure materials are available
- Aiding in final inspections of aircraft
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the paint shop and work facilities
- Delegating duties to subordinates as necessary, but retaining overall responsibility
- Ensuring attention to detail and clear communication
- Managing production crew to meet scheduling demands
- Assisting with painting, base coat application, and layout
- Following company and safety rules during work
- Maintaining customer-oriented work habits
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideally)
- 8+ years’ experience in aircraft, autobody, RV, or marine painting
- Exclusive knowledge in all areas of the job
- Minimal supervision needed and responsibility for leading small work groups
- Self-motivated, flexible, and skilled in fast-paced environments
- Attendance and punctuality are essential
- Reliable transportation and ability to perform tasks in protective gear
- Passing pulmonary physical and respiratory fit test
Qualifications

- Varied positions in and around the aircraft
- Use of air equipment, polishers, sanders, strippers, electrostatic paint guns, pressure posts, and laser levels
