Lead P&C Engineer

About the role

Systems Engineering is a cross-functional technical discipline focused on an approach, mindset, and process that considers both business and technical customer needs to deliver a quality product meeting user requirements. This role involves implementing a robust process for designing, building, and optimizing systems—from identifying and quantifying system requirements, creating alternative design concepts, conducting design trade-off studies, selecting and implementing the best designs, to verifying proper integration and execution. The process spans from concept through production to operation.

Responsible for planning and executing departmental operations or focusing on professional activities within a technical discipline. The position operates with some autonomy but is guided by established policies or review of end results, allowing modification of workflows and practices as long as outcomes meet acceptance standards (quality, scope, timeliness, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, evaluate, implement, and manage engineering solutions for product and control system technology requirements.
• Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design and control systems with desired behaviors, including operability, boundary setting, cycle optimization, control logic, control-related software, sensors, hardware and software algorithms, and feedback to control equipment, subsystem, and system performance.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analytical thinking, and technical experience to implement policies and strategies.
• Understand best practices and how the role integrates with other areas; aware of competitive factors that distinguish the company in the market.
• Exercise judgment to propose solutions outside established parameters for complex manufacturing processes with technical diversity and/or interdependent production cycles.
• Use technical experience and analytical thinking to make decisions, leveraging multiple internal and limited external sources outside the immediate team.
• Serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
• Explain information and develop skills to build consensus among team members on field-related topics.
• Communicate performance expectations and handle confidential topics.

Requirements

• Advanced experience in a relevant technical discipline, comparable to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

Pay

For candidates applying to a U.S.-based position, the pay range is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility includes a discretionary annual bonus.
