About the role
Perform tasks necessary to efficiently control the operation of slitting equipment from raw material input to finished product.
Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM.
Responsibilities
- Operate various slitting machines to cover time-off situations and maintain required production output.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and warehouse.
- Ensure a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions and incidents.
- Uphold the company’s quality standards.
- Train employees as needed.
- Support the flow of materials through the department and develop physical layouts of machines according to work orders.
- Communicate with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Direct and instruct workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products that fail to meet standards.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Maintain time and production records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years of experience preferred.
- Ability to work at a fast pace and multitask.
- Ability to read production tickets and perform math calculations, including fractions.
- Proficiency in reading a tape measure, including micrometer.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to maintain production standards and dedication to continuous improvement.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, or stand for extended periods.
Schedule
Night shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM.
