About the role
LiDestri Foods has grown from its roots as a pasta sauce and salsa manufacturer to become an R&D engine, formulating and producing innovative food products for national and retailer brand partners. Based in Rochester, NY, LiDestri employs over 1,000 people across three U.S. locations. The company has longstanding partnerships with leading consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies and inventive retailer brands.
Responsibilities
- Familiar with the majority of production equipment and processes
- Ensure all products exiting production line meet customer and product requirements
- Validate correct materials are being utilized
- Adhere to all quality standards and policies
- Ensure finished product is transported/loaded correctly
- Identify noticeable defects in incoming & outgoing products
- Cross training or training on equipment as defined by manager
- Must be flexible in availability to work various shifts and/or facilities
- Work in a safe manner, consistent with company safety rules and regulations
- Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Extensive experience in a manufacturing facility
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather skid resistant work shoes/boots)
- Ability to apply basic computer and communication skills, math functions, and reasoning
- Ability to use various hand tools (RF scanner guns, can openers, knives and scales)
- Previous experience as a machine operator, QC Technician and a forklift operator
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to: Long periods of standing/moving, working around moving mechanical parts/conveyors, Loud environment, hot/cold, wet/dry conditions, Lifting/carrying, Frequent reaching/pulling/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending
Skills
- Proficiency in a majority of production equipment and processes
- Quality assurance and adherence to policies
- Equipment cross-training or training
- Safety awareness and reporting procedures
- Basic computer and communication skills
- Math functions and reasoning
- Hand tool usage (RF scanner guns, can openers, knives and scales)
