About the role

The Operations Finance Business Partner Lead is responsible for providing comprehensive financial support and strategic insights to the operational business groups and their project management teams. This role also involves leading and mentoring associate business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and mentors direct report(s)
  • Acts as a financial business partner to project management and operational leadership on complex initiatives and strategic decisions
  • Provides detailed financial analysis and insights to support business strategies, focusing on project profitability, customer analysis, and overall financial performance
  • Leads and supports the budget and forecast processes for supported operational groups to ensure alignment with short- and long-term business goals
  • Analyzes financial results, monitors variances, identifies trends, and recommends actions to operational leaders to optimize financial project performance
  • Interprets and communicates complex financial data to support decision-making, highlighting trends, causes, risks, and opportunities
  • Drives ongoing improvement and innovation in financial processes, procedures, and tools within the operations finance function
  • Serves as the primary liaison between operations and other financial departments (e.g., accounting, tax) to ensure accurate financial project alignment and resolve unique issues
  • Maintains oversight of project cash flow, including over/under billing and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and performs profitability analysis for projects and customers
  • Leads special projects and provides ad hoc financial analysis as required by operational and finance leaders

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in finance or corporate accounting, with at least 3 years in a direct operations or project-focused environment
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, especially Excel

Qualifications

  • CPA, MBA or other certification is favorable but not required
