About the Role

This position oversees day-to-day medical clinic operations, including supervision of registered nurses and medical assistants, supply management, and managing patient feedback. The role works collaboratively with the Site Medical Director and Operations Director to ensure smooth clinic functioning. It involves planning, providing, and documenting professional nursing care in ambulatory settings, delegating tasks, and supervising licensed and unlicensed care providers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure staff delivers quality care as determined by CBHC standards and provide continuing education opportunities.
  • Delegate clerical and non-nursing tasks to assistive personnel and supervise the daily work of the nursing team.
  • Provide performance feedback and conduct direct observation and periodic chart reviews.
  • Meet weekly with site leadership and monthly with Lead RNs to maintain communication and continuity of care.
  • Document incoming and outgoing calls, utilize interpreter services, and attend departmental and all-staff meetings.
  • Engage in internal and external care coordination.
  • Document telecommunications reflecting care specific to patient needs and communicate the plan of care.
  • Complete symptom assessments and physical assessments, correlating them with patient health history.
  • Schedule patient visits based on acuity, develop staffing schedules, and locate/utilize appropriate resources.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all situations and adhere to nursing protocols and organizational policies.
  • Participate in patient appointments for education or treatment, run independent nursing visits, and assist in triage during walk-in clinics.
  • Make accurate nursing diagnoses and collect relevant health status data.
  • Use assessments to evaluate patient needs, revise care plans, and collaborate with the healthcare team.
  • Correlate psychophysiology screening and physical complaints with life status to screen for stress-related somatic complaints.
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and adapt care to impact patient outcomes positively.
  • Request coaching and maintain professional organization memberships.
  • Display professionalism in all interactions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nutritionist, clinicians, pharmacy, mental health, etc.).
  • Cover shortages within departments and implement care plans with patients and the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
  • One year of nursing leadership in an ambulatory or acute care setting (significant related experience may substitute).
  • CPR certified within the probationary period.
  • Must attend five in-services annually.
  • Ability to work with computers in word processing and database applications (preferred).
  • Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment.
