Lead Network Engineer

About the role

Will be responsible for delivering technical solutions that align with business needs and industry best practices. The role includes designing, implementing, and maintaining network and firewall infrastructure to ensure network stability, performance, and security of our network environment. Leads and plans the maintenance of network systems across TUHS, develops standards, identifies and corrects problems, seeks opportunities for improvement, and proposes change. Provides Tier 2/3 technical support and 24x7 on-call services for the network infrastructure. This role requires three days on-site (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) at Temple Health Women's and Families Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Network Engineers and Network Data Techs in daily activities, projects, and special assignments.
• Develop and maintain cooperation and trust between junior team members and work groups by working collaboratively with all parties.
• Recommend upgrades or enhancements that support the technical environment and meet TUHS business needs.
• Work closely with security, infrastructure, and application teams ensuring network strategies align with business objectives.
• Mentor and guide junior network engineers and data techs.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in a related role with expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level (Data Center/Campus) network infrastructure.
• Experience managing and completing IT-related projects in a mid to large-scale network environment.
• Proficiency in network protocols, including TCP/IP, VxLAN, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, ACI, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi protocols.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network monitoring systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and support a wide range of infrastructure technologies including Cisco & Extreme Switching, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco and Aruba Wireless, Infoblox DNS.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field Required.
• Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required.
• Experience in Healthcare IT Preferred.

Licenses

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Preferred.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Preferred.
