About the role
This role is a hybrid position, working in the office three days a week. No visa sponsorships or transfers are available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and governance of large-scale, highly available network solutions across enterprise and cloud environments
- Provide technical leadership in developing and executing network automation strategies (Python, APIs, infrastructure-as-code)
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, patterns, and best practices for network design, deployment, and operations
- Drive adoption of automation, software-defined networking, and scalable engineering practices
- Oversee implementation of automated deployment pipelines and operational processes to improve consistency, reliability, and efficiency
- Utilize advanced monitoring, telemetry, and analytics to support proactive operations and continuous improvement
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted engineering tools, into network engineering practices
- Ensure solutions meet security, risk, and regulatory requirements, including performing risk assessments and design reviews
- Identify and mitigate risks to production systems while maintaining service level agreements
- Collaborate with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to drive strategic initiatives
- Mentor and develop engineering talent and influence adoption of modern engineering practices
Requirements
- 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Advanced knowledge of network architecture, protocols, and large-scale system design
- Strong experience with programming or scripting (Python preferred) for network automation
- Extensive experience with network automation, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Experience designing and supporting cloud-based network solutions
- Strong understanding of security, risk management, and compliance frameworks
Qualifications
- Required: 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Desired: Experience defining and implementing enterprise-scale network automation strategies
- Desired: Experience supporting large-scale or highly distributed network environments
- Desired: Familiarity with observability, analytics, and performance engineering practices
- Desired: Experience with AI-assisted operations, analytics tools, or automation platforms
- Desired: Knowledge of container networking, virtualization, or modern application networking patterns
- Desired: Industry certifications (e.g., CCIE, cloud professional certifications)
