Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Network Automation Engineer in Technology as part of Cybersecurity. The Application Hosting - Secure Network Services product provides foundational network infrastructure leveraged by Technology Infrastructure products and platforms in the Wells Fargo Data Centers, as well as connectivity to business partners, the public Internet, and Public Cloud Providers. Application Hosting is transforming operations to provision network capacity at an accelerated pace through full automation, providing transparency to consumers and network operators throughout the infrastructure lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the review, resolution, and implementation of the most complex technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale network applications, data systems, voice, and other technical products and services.
  • Use and create diagnostic, simulation, and other tools to maintain, troubleshoot, and restore service or data to systems.
  • Evaluate or review queries to extract data, create standard procedures, or perform limited programming to fine-tune supported systems.
  • Research performance trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Perform complex migrations from development to production, upgrades, installations, and configurations.
  • Make decisions in security and regulatory policies to design and implement foolproof secured network solutions.
  • Assess changes for risk to production systems and assure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met for supported areas.
  • Identify gaps in current technology processes and recommend changes to assure Service Level Agreements can be supported.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using AI-assisted development and analysis tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot and approved code-centric agents).
  • Leverage AI to accelerate system design, coding, testing, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Apply strong technical judgment when validating and integrating AI-assisted outputs into solutions.
  • Understand and account for model limitations, security risks, and operational considerations.
  • Apply AI responsibly in development and production environments.
  • Ensure AI usage aligns with security, compliance, privacy, and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of combined Network Engineering and automation experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • CCIE or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience creating network automation solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with one or a combination of Ansible, JINJA, NETCONF, Python, REST, YAML, YANG, or Robot.
  • 5+ years of experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins usage, and integrations.
  • 5+ years of experience with network management, automation, and orchestration tools, such as Ansible Tower, Cisco DCNM, and Arista CVP.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical experience including IP routing, switching, load balancing, and firewall.
  • Experience creating automated testing.
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience with creating and/or updating technical design documentation used by engineering teams.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Job Expectations

  • Willingness to work on-site at the stated location on the job opening or hybrid work from home as required by the company.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Willingness to support occasional out-of-hours operational needs.
  • This position does not offer VISA sponsorship.

Pay

$119,000.00 - $187,000.00
