About the role

Piedmont Rockdale is a 161-bed, acute care, not-for-profit community hospital in Conyers providing compassionate, patient-centered care since 1954. Services include 24-hour emergency care, major medical, surgical, and diagnostic services.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of operation in assigned section/team/department, including record preparation and maintenance, policy and procedure analysis, employee training, staffing, technical oversight, and compliance.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks, priorities, goals, and achievements with management.
• Assist with test validations, regulatory compliance, quality control/assurance, and maintenance within assigned area.
• Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist physicians in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology, or a life/biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.)
• 3 years of hospital experience
• Previous lead or supervisory experience
• Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists), or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) according to Georgia Department of Community Health regulations.
