Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical and structural design activities throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers within the team.
- Develop, review, and authorize engineering calculations, fabrication drawings, and technical documentation.
- Support finite element analysis (FEA), sing, validation, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Collaborate effectively with project management, manufacturing, procurement, and sales teams.
- Participate in customer meetings, serving as a technical authority during project execution.
- Facilitate installation, commissioning, and field service support as required.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Contribute to engineering resource planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of mechanical design experience within industrial manufacturing, heavy equipment, marine, energy, or related sectors.
- Proven experience designing custom or capital equipment.
- Strong understanding of structural, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or comparable 3D CAD software.
- Demonstrated project leadership experience and ability to work collaboratively across functions.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred but not mandatory; candidates actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of CFD, FEA, or advanced engineering analysis is a plus.
- Experience in one or more of the following environments is desirable: heavy industrial equipment, marine or shipbuilding, mining and aggregate processing, energy and power generation, manufacturing and fabrication, material handling systems, or custom-engineered equipment.
- Willingness to relocate and travel as needed, with applicable certifications a plus.
