Lead Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary
The Lead Engineer position is responsible for independently delivering engineering services, from conceptual design through construction completion.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Complete project planning, coordination, and execution with some oversight, managing time effectively to meet project schedules and task deadlines.
- Independently complete conceptual design through construction drawing development for multiple small and medium-sized standard projects simultaneously.
- Create conceptual designs certified to Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards, while conducting economic and energy analyses.
- Responsible for HVAC calculations, design and layout of equipment, and duct and piping systems on assigned projects.
- Utilize a solid understanding of applications engineering, such as psychrometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and controls systems, and a strong understanding of engineering standards and project execution processes.
- Ensure the overall quality of design drawings and models on all assigned projects.
- Proactively communicate and coordinate project designs with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners.
- Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members, ensuring appropriate engagement of engineering applications and/or managers in project decisions.
- Absorb other design team members to complete project assignments when requested by Manager, and perform other duties as assigned.

- Excellent understanding of engineering and design fundamentals
- Thorough understanding of systems and applications
- Excellent familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
Required Education and Experience
- BS in Engineering or Construction Management
- 3+ years of experience with a Design/Build Mechanical Contractor or consultant
Desired Professional Engineer license

Travel Requirements
Travel required 5-10% of the time to other office locations.
Hours
This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm with a one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary for business needs.
Physical Demands
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Prolonged sitting.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
Competitive Wages
$43 to $62 per hour. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
