About the role

Join a team of discipline Engineers based in Atyrau offices during the execution of FEED and detailed design for active projects. Provide technical expertise and support for procurement, construction, and commissioning, ensuring quality and cost control according to contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input and direction to EP/EPC and Engineering Contractors as part of the Design Integrity process for facilities.
  • Ensure smooth and effective transfer of data and information between Contractors and from Contractors to the Company.
  • Support the technical processing of Project Change Notices (PCNs), Technical queries, Concession requests, Claims, and IVB (third-party Integrity Verification Body) queries.
  • Revise, check, and approve design documentation received from contractors and vendors.
  • Lead the identification, creation, and adoption of mechanical engineering standards, considering Kazakhstan national standards and norms.
  • Ensure the intentions identified through Conceptual and FEED phases are maintained.
  • Identify and assess technology and systems to improve design and operability of large-scale field development projects.
  • Advise on mechanical equipment standardization, availability, and sparing philosophies.
  • Undertake technical integrity and HSE reviews/audits, and participate in process safety management.
  • Provide technical support and expertise for plant handover and startup in liaison with the Start-Up and Operation Team.
  • Attend site technical audits and investigations.
  • Participate in and evaluate tenders for various package units, plant facilities, or expansions.
  • Coordinate with lead engineers of other disciplines for department activities.
  • Proactively close out project punch lists, TQs, and IVB findings in coordination with other discipline leaders.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of discipline experience, with at least 5 years in complex onshore and/or offshore oil and gas projects, including Front End Engineering, Detailed Design, and support to Construction and Commissioning.
  • Previous experience in a similar company role, particularly interfacing with main Contractors.
  • Familiarity with major vendors of mechanical equipment and process plant equipment.
  • Strong history of collaboration with other related disciplines.
  • Experience in design and operation of high H2S content facilities with stringent HSE requirements.
  • Experience in the Former Soviet Union and/or Caspian Area is an advantage.

  • Working knowledge of CompEX equipment, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-Up stages of projects.
