Lead Mechanical CAD Designer

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Mechanical CAD Designer to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. This role will lead the creation and maintenance of complex mechanical assemblies, supporting products from early design through production readiness. You will focus on advanced parametric CAD modeling, mechanical integration, and the development of high-quality manufacturing documentation. The position partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, customer, and build requirements across multiple product variants. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $105,100 – $189,200 annually Responsibilities Independently design and maintain complex mechanical assemblies using advanced parametric CAD modeling Develop detailed layouts for structural elements, enclosures, piping systems, and thermal components Ensure mechanical designs meet performance and customer requirements Resolve system-level mechanical integration challenges during the design process Execute configuration-controlled CAD designs supporting multiple product variants Produce high-quality manufacturing drawings and documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design and production issues Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience 8+ years of hands-on mechanical CAD design experience with complex assemblies Expert proficiency in Creo and/or SolidWorks Strong command of GD&T and manufacturing documentation Proven experience with configuration-controlled designs across lifecycle phases Ability to independently own complex technical work Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans Paid time off accruing at a rate of 3.07 hours during the first year 4 weeks of paid parental leave 11 company-paid holidays in 2027, including 2 optional floating holidays 401(k) retirement plan Employee stock purchase plan Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
