Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess vehicles and machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
- Communicates vehicular/equipment defects or problems.
- Provides routine inspections of vehicles and equipment/machinery.
- Prepares quotes and work estimates as requested.
- Keeps an accurate log of all work performed.
- Maintains and cleans shop equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times.
- Adheres to company work safety policies.
- Maintains and controls a small inventory of hand tools for both maintenance and install operations.
- Manages yard organization and cleanliness.
- Works with all Field Operations Manager’s to ensure yard organization and cleanliness is being maintained.
- Ensures all assets (vehicles and equipment) have a designated area in the yard.
- Ensures all trucks are being regularly serviced at recommended intervals for routine maintenance needs.
- Keeps service records for all company vehicles, heavy equipment, and small equipment.
- Tracks mileage on trucks, ensures mileage reports are accurate.
- Audits mileage with fuel usage.
- Tracks equipment needs and usage.
- Ensures routine maintenance service schedule is being followed and that all Green Summit equipment is working properly.
- Ensures shop is organized and running efficiently.
- Manages a parts-on-hand inventory for timely repairs.
- Reports equipment damaged or broken from neglect or misuse to proper Field Operations Manager.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Pass a background check.
- Hands-on experience working with small engines.
- Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines such as those found in lawn mowers, chainsaws, and blowers.
- Understanding of engine components, fuel systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems specific to small engines.
- Must have own set of tools necessary for performing repairs and maintenance on small engines and fleet vehicles.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
