Lead Marketing Data Quality Engineer

About the Role

The Lead Quality Engineer ensures all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements. This role focuses on testing coordination, planning, and execution of data to support marketing initiatives, customer acquisition, member identification, and patient onboarding, engagement, retention, and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage the testing validation lifecycle of data products.
• Define and prioritize data product validation scenarios and cases.
• Collaborate with product owners and data stewards to understand business user stories.
• Write and execute test cases in ADO, including positive and negative scenarios.
• Create and maintain test plans for each release.
• Coordinate with development teams and stakeholders to ensure release scope alignment.
• Write and modify SQL queries for data validation and performance analysis.
• Lead data product validation execution and act as a liaison for Agile delivery teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and enterprise stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
• Monitor product performance and act as the first line of defense for operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive testing documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field (or 10 years of related experience without a degree).
• 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, testing validation, or quality assurance within a data-driven environment.
• 2+ years of project/product/testing leadership experience.
• Proven experience working in Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
• Familiarity with data platforms and analytics tools.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
• U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field or MBA with a focus on marketing or technology.
• Understanding of marketing data ecosystems (segmentation, targeting, campaign measurement).
• Experience with enterprise-level marketing IT systems and vendor-managed solutions.
• Knowledge of customer lifecycle management and growth strategies.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Azure Dev Ops, or similar tools.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems or integrating upstream data sources.
• Certification in Agile Product Ownership (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM).
• Experience with healthcare data.

Additional Information

This is a remote position with occasional travel to Humana's offices (1-2 times a year). The role operates under Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Schedule

40 hours per week.

Pay

$117,600 - $161,700 per year. This role is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
