About the role

We seek a Lead Manufacturing Specialist 1 to coordinate and expedite the flow of materials—from suppliers and internal departments—according to production schedules. This role oversees departmental operations, plans and executes all material-related activities, and carries direct people-management responsibility, including staffing and performance development. While the position has some autonomy, it is primarily focused on executing activities within established functional practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage master planning, material processes, and systems.
  • Prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs.
  • Ensure operational alignment with the production plan and KPIs.
  • Optimize inventory and drive process improvements.
  • Use in-depth technical knowledge and analytical thinking to execute policy and strategy.
  • Apply knowledge of best practices and how the role integrates with other functions.
  • Propose solutions outside standard parameters to address complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and interdependent production cycles.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
  • Convey performance expectations and handle sensitive issues.

Requirements

  • For roles in the USA: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • Access to U.S. export-controlled information; proof of U.S. Person status (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, asylee, or refugee) is required.
  • On-site position in St. George, Utah.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a materials or demand planner, preferably in commercial or aerospace industries.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or other statistical software.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Experience with supply chain management systems and tools, such as ERP software or inventory management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to interpret technical data.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and build positive working relationships.
  • Knowledge of forecasting techniques, demand planning, and inventory optimization methodologies.
