About the Role
L3Harris is seeking a Lead, Manufacturing Electrical Engineer to support the Unmanned Systems business in Ashburn, VA.
Responsibilities
- Research, define, design, analyze, and validate production tests for products.
- Design, develop, and maintain tools, fixtures, and scripts used to automate board level and assembly level testing.
- Examine early assembly prototyping/testing to provide feedback in the design process.
- Identify and justify capital equipment needs for capacity and capability expansion.
- Provide technical mentorship for team in areas of expertise.
- Contribute to CAM and IPT activities.
- Initiate and review manufacturing workflow and processes/procedures such as:
- Work/assembly instructions
- Rework and modification instructions
- Travelers/routers
- Special process instructions
- Standard repair instructions
- Review and approve drawings for the Manufacturing Department (i.e. sign off authority).
- Communicate information between the design and manufacturing teams and ensure that design feedback from manufacturing is relayed to engineering.
- Lead and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives in the organization such as 5S, Tool Control, etc.
- Up to 5% travel may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering and minimum 6 years of prior relevant engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience.
- Active US secret security clearance.
Qualifications
- Experience leading small teams.
- Experience with technical writing, specifically work instructions and process documentation.
- Experience in aviation or military systems manufacturing.
- Experience with creating and presenting performance metrics.
- Experience with Capital Equipment justification and BOEs.
- Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).
- Experience/certification in lean practices; 5S, six sigma.

Pay
The salary range for this role in Washington, D.C. is $116,500 - $216,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
Schedule
Employees work 9 out of every 14 days- totaling 80 hours worked- and have every other Friday off.
