Lead Man - Pipefitter

About the Role

Polk Mechanical is seeking a Pipefitter Lead to join our high-performing team. As a hands-on leader, you’ll guide a crew to deliver exceptional work in pipefitting and related trades, setting the standard for quality and efficiency while working alongside your team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a crew by communicating instructions clearly, assigning tasks, and demonstrating proper techniques.
• Manage resources to ensure plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available and organized for efficient workflow.
• Solve problems promptly by obtaining decisions from supervisors and providing guidance to team members.
• Monitor work progress and verify compliance with specifications, deadlines, and safety standards.
• Enforce safety and housekeeping rules at all times.
• Provide updates to superintendents and project managers on progress, delays, and operational challenges.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of verifiable pipefitting experience.
• Strong knowledge of piping blueprints, specifications, codes, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
• Skilled in scheduling and meeting deadlines.
• Commitment to precision and quality in all work.
• OSHA-10 certification is required. If you currently do not possess an OSHA-10, we will provide the opportunity to take the course prior to employment.
