Lead Mammography Technologist ARRT(R)(M)
Under the direction of the Radiology Administrator, the Lead Mammography Technologist performs diagnostic and screening mammograms at our flagship location in the Bronx.
Qualifications
- ARRT Mammography Certification
- NYS DOH Radiology Technician License
- Knowledge of Digital 3-D and Quality Control highly desired
- Completion of 2 years from Accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- 2+ years minimum of related experience with mammograms
- Bilingual Spanish/English highly desired
Responsibilities
- Complete patient education regarding the exam, promote patient privacy and comfort
- Perform diagnostic or screening mammography as ordered
- Complete appropriate documentation
- Act as lead for the division in supporting training of other Mammo Techs
- Produce high-quality films for the radiologist to evaluate, paying attention to detail
- Perform quality control functions related to mammography
- Follow infection control and safety guidelines
- Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique
- Serve as primary liaison between patients, Radiologists, and other members of the support team
- Participate in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence
- Perform all duties using proper body mechanics, including manual dexterity and fine motor coordination
Pay
Starting compensation: $50.00 – $52.00 per hour
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
