Lead Maintenance Technician

One opening available for the following shifts:

• First Shift: Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Second Shift: Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Union: 32BJ

Pay: $34.87 per hour. The pay listed is the hourly range or rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

About the role

The Lead General Maintenance Technician (GMT) works directly with clients, engineering leadership, and vendors to keep the building operational. The GMT performs ongoing facility maintenance, completes repairs on various equipment, performs minor repairs to Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) equipment, and ensures client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in basic general maintenance duties and troubleshooting within general maintenance.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair general maintenance deficiencies (MEP), including:
  • Lighting and ballast
  • Fixture leaks
  • Thermostat/temperature control
• Perform Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) repairs.
• Demonstrate solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required for repair and maintenance tasks.
• Complete assigned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs.
• Use the CMMS program in support of work performance.
• Foster a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement of engineering functions.
• Record all pertinent data in building logbooks and make appropriate daily entries.
• Perform basic routine MEP repairs.
• Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall, and wood trim repair.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Assist in emergencies as needed.
• Return all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum of 5+ years of related experience and/or trade school training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to understand and give general instructions in standard situations.
• Operate and use necessary manual and power-driven tools.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• May require shift work, overtime, and/or on-call duties.
• Stooping, standing, climbing, and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders).
• Ability to safely install rigging/lifting devices.
• May be required to work extended periods without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime).
• Climb ladders and stairs.
