This role provides training, guidance, and direction to assigned employees to achieve goals and key performance metrics in line with the organization's objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and delegate daily tasks to assigned production employees.
  • Use the company’s computer system (EPICOR/Vantage - MES) to collect labor hours and track process information on each job.
  • Supervise employee duties to ensure Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals are met.
  • Prepare and deliver training for production employees as needed.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area.
  • Use Microsoft Outlook (email) to communicate within and outside the department.
  • Operate materials handling equipment, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Assist employees in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Support the implementation of the master plan to meet goals and project delivery dates.
  • Ensure machinery, tools, and equipment are in good working order.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Produce a quality product and assist in solving problems as they arise.
  • Assign work to meet daily priorities and determine if departmental overtime is needed to meet customer ship dates.
  • Observe and document employee performance for the supervisor.
  • Assist in conducting employee evaluations.
  • Conduct weekly Safety meetings as required by Management and the Safety Department.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Regular and timely attendance is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Ability to learn and effectively use the Epicor/Vantage computer system to report data, check job schedules, inventory levels, routings, and bill of materials, as well as train new and existing employees.
  • Ability to read blueprints and visually inspect shafts and hardware.
  • Ability to read and understand Sabre’s Quality Manual and manufacturing tolerances.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while moving throughout the office or manufacturing plant as needed.
  • Ability to perform physical activities requiring use of fingers, hands, and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment, and reaching.
  • Additional physical activities may include walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling materials.
  • Requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and a safety-minded approach.
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods and observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
