This role provides training, guidance, and direction to assigned employees to achieve goals and key performance metrics in line with the organization's objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and delegate daily tasks to assigned production employees.
- Use the company’s computer system (EPICOR/Vantage - MES) to collect labor hours and track process information on each job.
- Supervise employee duties to ensure Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals are met.
- Prepare and deliver training for production employees as needed.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area.
- Use Microsoft Outlook (email) to communicate within and outside the department.
- Operate materials handling equipment, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Assist employees in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Support the implementation of the master plan to meet goals and project delivery dates.
- Ensure machinery, tools, and equipment are in good working order.
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Produce a quality product and assist in solving problems as they arise.
- Assign work to meet daily priorities and determine if departmental overtime is needed to meet customer ship dates.
- Observe and document employee performance for the supervisor.
- Assist in conducting employee evaluations.
- Conduct weekly Safety meetings as required by Management and the Safety Department.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Ability to learn and effectively use the Epicor/Vantage computer system to report data, check job schedules, inventory levels, routings, and bill of materials, as well as train new and existing employees.
- Ability to read blueprints and visually inspect shafts and hardware.
- Ability to read and understand Sabre’s Quality Manual and manufacturing tolerances.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while moving throughout the office or manufacturing plant as needed.
- Ability to perform physical activities requiring use of fingers, hands, and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment, and reaching.
- Additional physical activities may include walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling materials.
- Requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and a safety-minded approach.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods and observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
