About the role

The Lead Line Cook is a key member of the culinary team responsible for executing high-quality menu items while providing leadership and guidance to the line team. This role transforms high-quality, unique ingredients into exceptional dishes through expert preparation, cooking, and plating while maintaining Love.Life’s standards for quality, nutrition, presentation, hospitality, and food safety.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily execution of assigned kitchen stations while ensuring consistency, quality, and proper presentation of all menu items.
  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to recipes, specifications, and Love.Life culinary standards.
  • Act as a leader during service by supporting line cooks, communicating priorities, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, station setup, and breakdown.
  • Train, coach, and mentor line cooks on proper cooking techniques, recipes, sanitation standards, and station responsibilities.
  • Ensure all menu items are prepared with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of ingredients, recipes, dietary requirements, and menu changes.
  • Ensure compliance with nutrition standards, food safety regulations, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout the shift.
  • Support inventory control by communicating product needs, shortages, and quality concerns to leadership.
  • Assist with accommodating special requests, allergies, and dietary restrictions while maintaining quality standards.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Provide solutions during service and proactively address challenges.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chef, or Manager on Duty.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional kitchen experience.
  • Previous experience working as a Lead Line Cook, Kitchen Lead, or equivalent leadership role.
  • Experience training or mentoring other team members preferred.
  • Experience in ordering and inventory.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Current food handler certification required.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
