Lead Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician
Animal Care Center of Cartersville is seeking an experienced Lead Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT) to support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. We value credentialed technicians for their clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills across all areas of the hospital.
About the Role
In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.
Responsibilities
- Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
- Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Assist in surgery
- Perform dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
- Maintain accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
- Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Identify patient concerns and support efficient case management across the hospital
- Build strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
Requirements
- 5+ years of veterinary technician experience
- Active and good-standing Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT) license in the state of Tennessee
Skills
- Proficiency in patient nursing, anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and dental prophylaxis with dental radiography
- Skilled in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, laboratory diagnostics, and radiology
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records while providing compassionate, low-stress patient handling and client education
- Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Professional communication skills, collaborative team mindset, and commitment to exceptional patient care and continuous learning
Preferred Skills
- Ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- Experience with EzyVet practice management software

Pay
$22–$26 per hour
Schedule
This is a flexible full-time position, with availability needed Monday - Saturday, including rotating Saturday shifts every other weekend.
