Lead Lab Assistant - Full Time - Days - 8hr QVH

About the role

Works under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services/Asst. Director and/or Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Performs venipunctures on adults and pediatrics and micro collection on infants. Performs routine laboratory processes. Participates in data entry, specimen processing and communicates with clients to help resolve specimen concerns as required. Directs activity of phlebotomists during shift, under the direct supervision of the CLS supervisors, to include scheduling, training, daily workloads, staff and client problem resolution and supply inventory. Performs other duties as assigned. Delivering world-class health care one patient at a time.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and medical/laboratory phlebotomy terminology
• Two years acute care hospital laboratory experience (preferred)
• Leadership experience (preferred)
• Ability to operate computer input terminal
• Ability to perform phlebotomy techniques including special procedures such as blood cultures, finger and heel sticks
• Fluent English communication skills
• Interpersonal skills for positive team building and conflict resolution
• Well-developed organizational skills
• Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment and independent action
• Excellent customer service skills
• Current California CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certificate
• BLS required

Pay

Pay Range $24.15 - $36.47
