This position follows our hybrid workstyle policy: expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10-12 days a month. Please note: this role is not eligible for work visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement specialized code supporting interfaces between business application systems and a data warehouse
- Work with Confluent Kafka and Apache Kafka, including architecture, components, and tuning
- Use Confluent Schema Registry
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform on AWS
- Utilize AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
- Support Kafka Connect using Linux Virtual Machines
- Program in languages such as Java or Python
- Apply Spark Streaming and Apache Flink (desirable)
- Apply SRE concepts, including monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, DataDog, Dynatrace, and CloudWatch for customer support and application health checks
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Exhibit strong communication and collaboration skills
Requirements
- 10 years of relevant development or engineering experience or a combination of education, training, and experience
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- 6 to 10 years of general experience
- Financial services industry knowledge is a plus
- Travel: less than 25%
