Lead Janitor

Responsibilities

• Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors
• Removing chips, trash, and other refuse
• Dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures
• Polishing metal fixtures or trimmings
• Cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms
• Disinfecting high‑touch areas (doorknobs, light switch covers, desktops, etc.)
• Providing instruction and direction to custodians on site

Qualifications

• Good communication skills
• Must pass agency and federal background checks, drug screen, and confirmation of authorization to work in the US
• Ability to meet the physical demands of moving, carrying, storing items, and cleaning, dusting, and wiping rooms full of furniture as well as floors and carpets
• Physical capacity to perform the required tasks
• 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Favorable background and drug‑screen results required for access to government computer systems and facilities
• Drug screens follow federal guidelines

Pay and Benefits

Base wage of $16.40 per hour plus $5.42 per hour Health and Welfare (up to 40 hours per week). These funds are allocated for benefits and can be taken as additional hourly pay, yielding an effective wage of $21.82 per hour.
