Lead, IT Service Operations

Location: Dallas, TX (hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)

About the role

As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of our global team of Cloud Engineers to help manage client and internal environments hosted in AWS for our enterprise-grade applications in the Corporate Actions & Custody domain. The team is responsible for all the infrastructure and automation required to support continuous integration and continuous delivery both for client cloud (UAT and Production) environments and internal environments.

Responsibilities

• Support high uptime/high availability (24x7) systems
• Manage incident tickets and workflows using systems like Jira and ServiceNow
• Handle source control systems (e.g., GitHub) including branching, hook scripting, access control, backup, and recovery
• Action Managed Services requests within defined SLAs
• Operate in a challenging, globally distributed environment with a strong appreciation for development processes, toolsets, and delivery infrastructure
• Participate in an on-call rota to provide 24/7 support coverage

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience as a cloud engineer
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, preferably engineering graduate or equivalent
• Indefinite right to work within the USA

Skills

• Good knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems and technologies, including shell scripting, OS configuration, and troubleshooting
• Good knowledge of the Java ecosystem, JEE applications, and application servers (e.g., JBoss, Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere)
• Understanding of messaging-oriented middleware, especially JMS (e.g., IBM MQ, ActiveMQ)
• Hands-on experience working in the AWS cloud (AWS preferred)
• Knowledge of AWS CloudFormation, Azure DevOps, or Terraform
• Experience with configuration and deployment management in a scripting language
• Experience with incident management and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)
• Good knowledge of cloud computing concepts
• Good knowledge of GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT)
• Familiarity with prompt engineering or using AI to automate documentation, scripting, and monitoring
• Experience using AI to accelerate DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or observability tooling (major advantage)
• Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) — bonus if paired with AI-based infrastructure tools
• Proven experience in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing large-scale distributed systems in a cloud environment
• Strong problem-solving skills with a growth mindset and openness to AI-powered innovation
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
• Capable of managing priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certification or similar credentials
• Ability to estimate usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms (e.g., Splunk, Datadog)
• Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery concepts and tooling
• Experience with Spring Boot

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000 – $155,000. Final base salary will be based on the individual’s geographical location, experience, and qualifications. This role is eligible for an annual incentive plan but not for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission.
