Lead Investment Operations Analyst

Full-time employee role based in New York, NY with hybrid working expectations.

About the role

The Senior Investment Operations Analyst will work closely with teams in New York and Sydney to ensure operational coverage across all time zones and geographies. The role focuses on supporting global trading desks over the trade life cycle, managing exceptions, completing reconciliations, handling security data, and ensuring timely valuations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with trade desks and external partners globally to manage and support GI’s trade life cycle efficiently across all locations.
• Minimize instances of trade failures.
• Administer Investment Systems, ensuring functional correctness, up-to-date security setup, integration flows, reconciliations, system queries, and workflow maintenance.
• Ensure transactional activity and data are accurately processed, recorded, and maintained in a timely, scalable, and controlled environment across all investment portfolios and geographies.
• Support internal and external audit processes for accurate and effective assessment of controls and activities.
• Engage with key stakeholders to identify areas of improvement in existing processes.
• Manage and oversee relationships with external service providers, partners, and data vendors to ensure high service standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet user requirements and facilitate efficient operational workflow and data management.
• Ensure all processes are documented and up-to-date.
• Provide technical investment operational expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders over the trade life cycle.

• Determine work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to achieve personal and team objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline and/or relevant industry experience (e.g., funds manager, custodian, or administrator with a global reach).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in an Investment Operations environment.
• Very good knowledge of investment instruments (fixed income, equities, derivatives) for trade matching, settlement, and corporate actions.
• Experience with managed mandates preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of investment systems (e.g., BlackRock Aladdin, Simcorp Dimension, Bloomberg, eFront, and CTM).
• Good knowledge of OTC financial products, particularly unlisted unit trusts and private investments.

Skills

• Up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of industry standards relevant to the role.
• Good understanding of investment markets and related risk and compliance practices.
• Knowledge of fixed income key metrics (e.g., Duration, Spread Duration, Yield).
• Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and influencing skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with senior managers and key stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a thorough approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work effectively within time constraints and remain resilient under pressure.
• Ability to manage relationships with external service providers.
• Understanding of collateral management, LOCs, and trust account structures.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Relevant industry courses and accreditation.

Pay

The starting salary for this role is between $124,500 and $186,500. The salary offer will be based on role complexity, location, and the candidate’s professional background, including education and experience.
