Lead Inventory Specialist

About the role

This position is responsible for all activities associated with creating, analyzing, routing, and uploading Stock Requests to support existing and new customer implementations. It also involves notifying workers in the 30/60/90 Process to ensure KGP’s business plan requirements are met. This role serves as the primary backup to the Supervisor Procurement and must meet overstock inventory objectives while maintaining profitable company inventory levels and inventory turns to uphold required customer service levels.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain the TL9000 document PR-F-5004 Stock Request form on KGP SharePoint.
• Obtain, review, and analyze completed PR-F-5004 Stock Request forms from initiators to ensure all required data is properly filled out.
• Run Stock Requests through the Microsoft 2010 Access Database and build routing for finalized requests.
• Maintain the status of each in-process Stock Request to ensure fiscal approvals and work group needs are met in a timely manner.
• Assist with any Stock Request as needed.
• Save completed Stock Requests in a central location before uploading them into the Microsoft 2010 Access Database.
• Perform behind-the-scenes updates or changes at the Stock Request level as needed.
• Ensure the Microsoft 2010 Stock Request Database undergoes compact and repair bi-weekly.
• Present and train KGP employees on creating and processing Service Requests.
• Conduct Stock Request training for other KGP work groups and provide individual assistance as needed.
• Utilize Navision, SharePoint, KGP Care, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access at an intermediate skill level.
• Serve as an integral part of a cross-functional business team managing joint objectives, including inventory turns, overstock, customer service levels, profitability, and EVA.
• Review and maintain the 30/60/90 report by notifying item workers of their items and ensuring actions are documented.
• Adhere to and promote compliance with Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, Industry Consensus Standards, and KGP’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual.
• Participate in job site safety/hazard analysis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent; two-year college degree preferred.
• Minimum of six years of work experience in Logistics, Marketing, or Sales.
• Previous inventory control and warehouse problem-solving experience.
• Sound analytical, decision-making, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and computer skills.
• Data manipulation skills via Excel, Access, and other system tools or applications.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide 10-digit numbers, including operations using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
