Lead Instrument Technician

Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (2/2 schedule)

Summary

Reports to the Manager and/or supervisor of Sterile Processing. Maintains competency in all areas of sterile processing (Decontamination, Assembly, Sterilization, Case Pick, and case cart transport) and holds and maintains HSPA CRCST or CBSPD certification. Leads the team to deliver high‑quality and reliable instrumentation to surgical services customers and patients. Plays a primary role in precepting and team training and acts as a leader and expert resource on the team at all times. Responsible for navigating the flow and priorities of the department to meet customer needs. Participates in, leads team huddles, contributes ideas to support continuous improvement and the quality management system, and participates in team projects. Assists the SPD site manager in correcting incomplete trays, missing instruments, tray maintenance schedules, and standard‑work audit & coaching, regulatory requirements, and documentation. Responsible for adhering to Lee Health policies and protocols and AAMI, APIC, and AORN standards.

Responsibilities

• Coach staff, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintain documentation.
• Adhere to Lee Health policies and AAMI, APIC, and AORN standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Minimum 6 months sterile processing experience (required).
• HSPA CRCST or CBSPD certification (required); HSPA CIS, CER certification preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English for work‑related communication.

Pay

Minimum to midpoint pay rate: $25.06 – $32.58 per hour.

Hiring incentive: $1,000 sign‑on bonus.

Shift 2: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM (2/2 rotation).
