Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Read and interpret maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing life-limited, malfunctioning, or damaged components.
- Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Perform inspection of Rolls-Royce M250 and RR300 model engines and components.
- Perform inspection of incoming parts and final inspection of articles.
- Ensure all inspections are properly performed and recorded, and that all records are properly executed before final approval for return to service of articles maintained or altered by Keystone Turbine Services.
- Serve as the senior inspector on the floor, providing daily technical direction to the inspection team and resolving inspection questions as they come up.
- Review and approve inspection paperwork, non-conformance reports, and rework instructions before parts move forward in the process.
- Train, mentor, and develop junior inspectors and Designated Process Inspectors (DPIs) to build bench depth in the department.
- Support internal and external audits including FAA, EASA, Rolls-Royce, and customer audits.
- Ensure the Work Order packages contain the required documents and forms.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of related inspection experience in an FAA Part 145 environment, with turbine engine experience required.
- Experience on Rolls-Royce M250 and RR300 platforms is required.
- Proficient in reading and understanding manufacturer's instructions, drawings, and technical documents.
- Prior lead or working-supervisor experience in an inspection or quality role.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and AS9110 quality management systems.
- Mechanical experience in either the Aviation or Automotive industry.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment, i.e., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, height gauges, and optical comparators.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Technical school, associate degree, or military aviation training preferred.
Skills
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate strongly preferred.
- NDT Level II certifications a plus.
- Prior DPI authorization a plus.
