Lead Infrastructure Engineer (Purview)
About the role
The IT Services team is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and manage Microsoft Purview capabilities across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem to support data governance, compliance, and security initiatives. This role partners with IT, Security, Legal, and business stakeholders to identify, classify, protect, and monitor organizational data.
Responsibilities
- Work independently on highly complex tasks related to diverse customer hardware, software, and access issues.
- Help develop processes and strategies to improve technical customer support.
- Lead critical projects with advanced technical knowledge.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 security, compliance, or data governance roles.
- At least 4 years of experience with Microsoft Purview including compliance portal, DLP, sensitivity labeling, retention, and investigations.
- Strong understanding of data governance, privacy regulations, and compliance frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Qualifications
- Experience with PowerShell and automation for Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience with eDiscovery (Purview) and audit logs.
- Knowledge of Insider Risk Management and Communication Compliance.
- Exposure to Microsoft Defender, Entra ID, and broader M365 security stack.
- Experience supporting Copilot / AI governance initiatives.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as IT, Security, and Legal.
Skills

Full-time permanent position primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed. Hybrid position working 2–3 days/week on-site.
