About the role
This role serves as a strategic liaison between Line of Business (LOB) application teams and the enterprise platform organization. This role is accountable for driving end-to-end infrastructure solution design, with a strong emphasis on middleware platforms to ensure application integration, scalability, and reliability across enterprise systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex, cross-functional solutioning efforts while bringing practical experience from hands-on delivery to ensure designs are actionable, efficient, and aligned to real-world execution processes.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy and influence, partnering across CTO architecture, platform engineering, security, and application development teams to improve decision velocity, reduce friction, and enable scalable outcomes.
- Lead solution design engagements across LOB application teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise infrastructure standards and approved products.
- Drive end-to-end solution ownership, from initial design through onboarding, implementation alignment, and operational readiness.
- Facilitate and lead cross-functional solutioning sessions with stakeholders including Application Development, CTO Architecture, WIMT Architecture, Security, Network, Middleware, and Database teams.
- Apply practical execution experience to ensure solutions are realistic, implementable, and aligned to existing delivery processes.
- Identify and resolve design gaps, conflicting requirements, and cross-team dependencies.
- Exercise judgment in when to drive intervention vs. when to leverage established processes, ensuring efficient and scalable delivery.
- Partner with engineering and delivery teams to ensure solution designs transition cleanly into execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve execution processes, reduce friction, and streamline delivery based on hands-on experience.
- Reinforce adoption of enterprise design patterns and infrastructure standards.
- Audit operational readiness including monitoring, resiliency, backup, disaster recovery, and incident response integration.
- Support lifecycle management strategy by aligning solutions to enterprise currency, compliance, and modernization objectives.
- Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications.
- Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure.
- Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals.
- Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future.
- Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors.
- Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices.
- Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements.
- Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success.
- Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Interact with customer and vendor
