Lead Infrastructure Engineer

For our client, a leader in the Enterprise Technology space, we are seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence, working across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities in a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Design and operate large-scale, multi-data center infrastructures for international operations
• Lead infrastructure automation, migrating from legacy tools to modern infrastructure as code systems
• Design and maintain traffic management, load balancing, and DNS at scale
• Build and operate monitoring and observability systems across cloud and on-prem environments
• Develop tooling for auditable systems administration management
• Create and maintain documentation for processes and policies within the infrastructure organization

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure or systems engineering with production system ownership
• Experience managing physical hardware infrastructure remotely in hosting facilities
• Deep Linux systems administration expertise (Red Hat, Debian, etc.) at scale
• Hands-on core networking experience, including Cisco hardware and DNS
• Experience with enterprise storage and backup systems
• Proven automation skills using tools like Ansible and Puppet
• Proficiency in Python or similar for tooling and automation
• Production experience with GCP, including Compute Engine and IAM

Pay

$110,000 – $186,000 annually
