Lead Infrastructure Architect
Position Summary
The IT Architect will serve as the primary Infrastructure lead for M&A activities, responsible for assessing incoming organizations' technology environments and developing integration and modernization plans.
Scope of Responsibility
This Role Will Assess And Coordinate Integration Across Compute, virtualization, and hosting platforms
Storage, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
Network, WAN/LAN, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and connectivity
Network security, firewalls, VPN, segmentation, and secure access
Cloud infrastructure and hybrid connectivity
Identity platforms, including AD, Entra ID / Azure AD, SSO, MFA, federation, and privileged access
Collaboration platforms, including Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Workspace, and email services
Shared services, including ITSM, monitoring, CMDB, certificate management, logging, NTP, SMTP, and automation tools
Key Responsibilities
- Lead infrastructure assessment for mergers, acquisitions, and integrations.
- Evaluate acquired-company infrastructure, identity, collaboration, cloud, network, and shared services environments.
- Identify risks, gaps, technical debt, security concerns, integration blockers, and modernization opportunities.
- Partner with leaders across Core Infrastructure, ICP, Cloud, Identity, Collaboration, Network, Security, and Shared Services.
- Develop Day 0, Day 1, Day 2, and long-term integration plans.
- Define migration sequencing, dependencies, ownership, risks, and target-state recommendations.
- Serve as the primary contact for infrastructure updates, decisions, and escalations.
- Prepare executive-level summaries, roadmaps, risk registers, and integration status updates.
- Ensure integration plans align with enterprise architecture, security, operational, and governance standards.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, or infrastructure architecture.
- Strong experience across compute, storage, backup, network, cloud, identity, collaboration, and shared services.
- Experience supporting M&A, divestitures, large-scale integrations, or major transformation programs.
- Knowledge of AD, Entra ID / Azure AD, SSO, MFA, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related platforms.
- Ability to assess complex environments and translate findings into integration plans, risks, and executive updates.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, documentation, and escalation management skills.
- Bachelor’s in computer science, IT or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace migrations.
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms, CMDB, monitoring, certificate management, and automation tools.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust, conditional access, identity governance, and network segmentation.
- Certifications such as ITIL, Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, or identity-related certifications are a plus.
