About the role
The role involves supervising security controls and troubleshooting efforts for business critical applications and systems. It also includes leading project engagements, consulting business lines on security technologies, managing staff, evaluating and recommending new technical and administrative controls, and providing mentoring and guidance to junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate assignments of information security associates
- Design, develop, and support various security controls as part of the Enterprise Security Program
- Standardize, document, maintain, and automate information security controls
- Ensure compliance with Hancock Whitney’s policies, guidelines, and architecture, documenting exceptions
- Work with other bank leaders to support the mission and core values of the bank
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and training to staff of information security associates
- Ensure user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security
- Conduct accurate evaluations of the level of security required
- Weigh business needs against security concerns and articulate issues to management
- Work with auditors and examiners to assist in gathering requested information for review
- Participate in continuing education to keep certifications up to date and stay informed about Information Security Technology Trends
Requirements
- Required: Associate’s degree in Information Systems or relevant science degree or senior security certification (i.e. CISSP, GSE) and 6+ years related experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience is allowed

- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
- Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
- Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
- Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions
