Lead Housekeeper

About the role

Leads environmental services associates in performing a variety of environmental services to maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition.

Responsibilities

• Monitors housekeeping activities in assigned area(s) to ensure proper cleaning, servicing and stocking of supplies, the completion of work schedules and supervisory instructions; reporting problems as necessary.
• Performs housekeeping duties including, but not limited to, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, vacuuming and trash removal.
• Ensures all supplies, materials and equipment are available in assigned work area for proper performance of duties; report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Reports need for repair to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures.
• Assists in training employees in proper cleaning techniques and use of supplies, materials and equipment.
• For Facilities With Specialty Accreditation Requirements Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: One (1) year of housekeeping experience.
• Physical Requirements: Must have physical ability to perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, reaching and bending and operating floor equipment such as vacuum cleaners, autoscrubbers, buffers, etc.; must meet Department of Labor's Heavy Duty Standard; capable of wearing appropriate PPE for an extended period of time.
• Working Environment: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids and different types of cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
