LEAD HOUSEKEEPER

About the Role

Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System is a 140 bed hospital offering inpatient services for adolescents, adults and their families. Care is given by registered nurses 24 hours a day alongside a quality team composed of psychiatrists, addictionologists, licensed therapists, certified alcohol and drug counselors, activity therapists, mental health techs and teachers. Since 1986, Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System has been a proven provider in mental health and substance abuse.

Responsibilities

• Supervise skilled and semi-skilled workers (housekeeping personnel)
• Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Oversee staff performance on a daily basis
• Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness
• Perform administrative duties and other duties as deemed necessary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree; with six months housekeeping or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken and written word

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals
• Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock
• Noise level is usually moderate
