About the role
The Lead Housekeeper at Armada Recovery is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility. This position ensures that all areas are kept clean, sanitary, and safe for clients, staff, and visitors. The Lead Housekeeper will supervise housekeeping staff, manage inventory of cleaning supplies, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Reports directly to: Executive Director
Responsibilities
- Ensure all areas of the facility are cleaned and maintained to high standards.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules.
- Maintain records of cleaning activities and supplies.
- Address any housekeeping-related issues or complaints.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and common areas.
- Manage inventory and order cleaning supplies as needed.
- Train new housekeeping staff and provide ongoing training.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain excellent verbal and written communication with staff, clients, and visitors.
- Prepare routine reports and correspondence in English.
- Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed).
- Carry/lift boxes weighing between 10 and 25 pounds.
- Ascend and descend stairs regularly as part of daily job duties.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2-3 years of experience working in housekeeping, preferably in a behavioral healthcare or healthcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to co-facilitate group discussions in a non-judgmental and supportive manner.
- Understanding of evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities for substance use disorder treatment.
- Ability to complete clinical documentation in an electronic medical record.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Crisis management and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English.
