About the role
The Lead House Supervisor at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is a nursing leadership role responsible for leading the Float Pool team and supporting safe staffing, patient throughput, and operational excellence across the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Lead approximately 25–40 Float Pool RNs and Patient Care Technicians
- Support staffing operations, patient flow, and bed management activities across the hospital
- Partner with nursing and operational leaders to support workforce planning, staffing coordination, and patient flow initiatives
- Supports the Clinical Manager in the delivery of safe, appropriate, age specific, cost effective patient care
- Manages the coordination of patient placement and bed management in collaboration with emergency department, admitting, and physicians
- Manages the direction of the allocation of staffing activities, within the patient care areas
- Works with the House Supervisors to handle unusual circumstances, to appropriate resources and to investigate/resolve clinical problems/complaints
- Hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans
- Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership
- Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals
- Directs operations of House Supervisor services within the organization and integrates services throughout the organization and system
- Manages House Supervisors as they assist with patient care operations and integration of services between departments
- Builds effective services through hiring, supervising and evaluating House Supervisor staff
Requirements
- Current RN licensure
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 2+ years of progressive leadership experience in an acute care setting
- Experience as a Charge Nurse, Team Lead, House Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager, or similar leadership role
- Strong communication, collaboration, and operational leadership skills
