About the role
Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Lead Harm Reduction Trainer for the Prevention Program. This role involves developing and delivering harm reduction and overdose prevention training programs to community partners and organizations in New Orleans, Lake Charles, and Bayou Vista areas. The position includes conducting street outreach, referring individuals to OHL services or other community resources, and representing the Prevention Program at community events.
Responsibilities
- Develop harm reduction training material and data tracking tools.
- Lead community and OHL client naloxone trainings for providers, pharmacists, and community-based organizations (CBOs).
- Conduct ongoing research relevant to the Program grant goals.
- Perform quality assurance for harm reduction trainers.
- Inform community members on naloxone use and access through outreach events.
- Conduct street outreach, outreach events, and trainings at OHL and partner agencies as directed by the Program Manager.
- Handle data entry and gathering as directed by the Program Manager.
- Assist in developing and implementing a naloxone awareness campaign targeting priority populations (pharmacists, prescribers, community members, and OHL clients).
- Maintain updated work, naloxone training, and outreach calendars.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all activities for data collection.
- Present potential partnerships to the Program Manager for approval.
- Perform administrative tasks as directed by the Program Manager.
- Prepare, facilitate, and evaluate training sessions.
- Refer individuals to OHL for primary medical care and treatment services.
- Refer individuals to the resource guide as needed.
- Assist with special projects as directed by the Program Manager.
- Organize workload to complete responsibilities in a timely manner.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the community served by the Agency.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- One year of experience providing health education to various populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled and experienced in delivering health education topics to diverse populations.
- Knowledge of healthcare issues affecting the community served by the Agency.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese).
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with some weekends.
